The Regime Launches an Illegal War for Oil

Two days into the new year, we may not be surprised, but we are horrified by the regime unilaterally launching a war in Venezuela with plans to “run the country.”
There is no legal justification in US or international law for these actions. The Trump regime is corrupt and authoritarian. They continue to threaten not only international law and our NATO allies, but our civil liberties and our constitutional rights as well.
Congress must act to check the regime’s authoritarianism and lawlessness. There is no justification for enabling these actions. Silence is implicit permission to act.
Every Member of Congress must do everything in their power to stand up to Trump and stop these lawless, unconstitutional actions. Social media posts are not enough. Congress must do its job.

Take to the Streets with Us!
Join us for our Never Forget January 6th action – the first protest of the year. Bring your signs declaring that the insurrection on our Capital in 2021 will not be forgotten and that we will always defend democracy but also that we will not accept a corrupt regime’s attempt to dispense with international law in trading American blood for oil in Venezuela.
Join us January 6th at 3:30 pm
And, our weekly peaceful, pro-democracy protests take off again in 2026! Join us on NW Sammamish Rd at Pickering Barn/Costco on January 10 and every Saturday at 12:30 as we raise our banner to protest the illegal actions of our increasingly authoritarian government and in support of our democracy.

Indivisible Washington’s 8th District was created in 2017. Nine years later, we are stronger than ever.
From a Facebook group created by a single person after seeing Ezra Levin on the Rachel Maddow show to a community of almost 2000 people capable of creating a No Kings event that brought out 7000, we have a lot to celebrate as well as a lot of work to do.
Join us at our first 2026 IndWA8 Community Meeting to celebrate our birthday and let’s talk about how we are going to make more pro-democracy good trouble.
Saturday, January 10, 10:00am – 12:00pm at the Issaquah Senior Center.
Will this be your first meeting or are you new-ish to Indivisible or Indivisible WA8? Please come a little early at 9:30 am on January 10 for a “Member Welcome & Into to Indivisible” orientation where we’ll get to know one another and talk about Indivisible!
