Talk with a Friend Campaign

Winning elections and rebuilding democracy is critical. So, how do we get people to vote? What works?

  • Research shows that talking to a friend is at least twice as effective as traditional ways of engaging with voters. Our “Talk with a Friend” Project is simply reaching out to someone you already know—someone who trusts you—which is much more effective than having a conversation with a stranger.
  • Talking with a friend who, in turn, talks to three other people in their life about voting and what’s at stake in an election has the power of “vote tripling.” This approach is particularly effective for engaging voters who don’t regularly participate in elections.

Talking to friends are easy and proven conversations. The people you talk with simply fill out a card with their address and the first name of the three friends they will contact about voting. Then, close to Election Day, you’ll mail the card to your friend.  Sign up for our new Talk to a Friend Project and we will contact you soon with instructions and cards to get you started!
