Our Strength is in Peaceful Resistance

The tragedies and shocking events of this past week have been incredibly hard. They remind us why we must reject political violence in all of its forms, including actions that enable, excuse, and incite violence. They remind us of our need for community and elected leaders with messages of unity and hope.

Indivisible Washington’s 8th District has always been, and will continue to be, committed to peaceful resistance and non-violence. Our strength is in one another, and in our community. Indivisibles support one another. We build community through compassion, engagement, and mutual aid. We stand together.

We know that defending our rights and strengthening our democracy takes us all. With resolve and through peaceful, sustained, and consistent action, we will continue to pursue one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Standing Together – Upcoming Rallies & Protests

Only the People Save the People Vigil

Immigrants need our solidarity now. The Supreme Court greenlit racial profiling, opening the way for more harassment, violence, false arrests, mass arrests, and mass deportations.

Join us in Issaquah for a candlelight vigil in support of our immigrant neighbors on Thursday, Sept. 18, from 6:30 – 7:30pm. This is not a sign waving event – we will have  battery-operated candles to share and black armbands to wear. Follow the link for details and to sign up.

No Kings 2 is Coming!

Mark your calendars and join us for No Kings 2 on Saturday, October 18 from 11:00am – 1:00pm in downtown Issaquah. “NO KINGS” is not just a slogan – it is the foundation our nation was built on. As more people see a president who thinks he’s a king, our peaceful movement is only getting bigger and stronger.

Help us grow our movement and join us. Register to get updates as details become available, and information on our commitment to nonviolent action. https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/840069/

Additional sign-waving opportunities

There are several ongoing weekly opportunities for peacefully standing up to show our concern, sponsored by our chapter and other like-minded folks. Check out the mini-calendar below or visit the full calendar. Bring along a sign, if you have one, and bring a friend!

Standing with leaders who share our values

Senator Victoria Hunt is fighting a tight race against long-time WA State Republican Party leader Chad Magendanz, who is mobilizing Republicans to go door to door for him. Senator Hunt’s campaign has lots of ways you can volunteer, get involved, and fight back! Go to this link to get involved to reelect Victoria Hunt
