The Power Belongs to the People

No Kings 2

We set out to make No Kings 2 in Issaquah bigger than anything we had seen. With your help, we did it. On October 18, between 7,000 and 8,000 people stood up for democracy in a mile-long protest on both sides of the street. Peaceful, proud, joyful, and resolute does not begin to describe it. People connected in spontaneous conversations about our signs, our costumes, what brought us out, what we hold dear, why we were proud to wave our American flags, and what we are fighting for – peacefully, of course!

Over 7 million people turned out in all 50 states, DC and cities around the globe to support democracy and stand up to authoritarianism. What we did was massive and meaningful.

Now, we build on the momentum. We keep organizing. We stay connected. We stay in contact with one another and we take care of one another. Join us tonight October 21 at 5:00pm PST to celebrate what we accomplished and talk about what’s next. Register for the What’s Next after No Kings call

Use Your Power: Talk with Friends!

Ballots are out! It’s time to vote! Research has shown that a one-to-one discussion with a friend is at least twice as effective as other methods of voter outreach. So, talking with friends about the importance of voting and the importance of elections, including local elections, is powerful. Three important races in our area: State Senator Victoria Hunt (LD5), King County Councilmember Sarah Perry, and Natalie Anderson (Issaquah School Board Director).

Stop the Trump Shutdown Protest
Saturday, November 1 @ 12:30 – 1:30PM
at Front St N & NE Gilman Blvd, Issaquah

We’re taking action to demand Republicans end the Trump Shutdown by negotiating a bipartisan budget agreement that protects healthcare and reins in Trump’s manipulation of federal funds. Democrats must continue to hold the line and fight to stop Trump’s authoritarian attacks on our healthcare, communities, and democracy!

Come to our November Community Meeting from 10:00AM – 12:00PM at the Issaquah Senior Center. Stay for this peaceful visibility event!
