We will not give up. We will not give in.

Over the course of the last year, we have seen how peaceful protesting as a tactic against authoritarianism works to shore up democracy. From Tesla Takedowns to weekly Overpass Bannering to Hands Off and No Kings 1 and 2, the infrastructure has been built to bring millions of people out on the streets to defend our democracy.

There is no question that without regular people taking to the streets over this past year, the Trump regime would have done even more damage. Instead, we have seen resistance to ICE raids, universities decide not to comply in advance, businesses like Disney reverse course on capitulating to the regime and overwhelming November elections results that point to being able to take back the House and perhaps even the Senate in 2026.

While our democracy is still in peril, we have shown that we will not give in to fascists or give them power they don’t have and we will continue to take to the streets in 2026.

Tuesday January 6th
Never Forget/Defend Democracy Sign Waving

The heavily armed, Trump-incited mob attack of Jan. 6, 2021, was an attack not just on the US Capitol building, but also on democracy and the rule of law. Five years later, it is especially important to honor those who defended the Capitol and stand up to defend democracy.

Join us to celebrate American democracy and remind our fellow citizens what we all witnessed that terrible day in 2021. Our democracy is fragile. It will take all of us to defend and protect it.

Weekly Saturday Banner & Sign Waving

Starting Saturday January 10th, we will be sign waving on NW Sammamish Rd by Pickering Barn/Costco from 12:30-1:30pm. This will replace our Thursday Overpass bannering events that were held last year since it gets darker so much earlier this time of year. We’ll be there rain or shine!

Coming this Spring!
No Kings III

If you’ve watched any of the recent What’s the Plan calls with Indivisible co-founders, Ezra Levin and Leah Greenberg, you know that one of the top questions they get every week is “When is the next No Kings event?”

While we don’t have a specific date yet, National has teased that we can expect it to be in late March/early April and that they are working with partner organizations to bring even more people out on the streets when it happens. As soon as they let us know the date, we will start promoting and planning for our event as well. Stay tuned!

January Community Meeting Reminder

Join us on Saturday, January 10th at the Issaquah Senior Center from 10am-12pm for our first community meeting in 2026. We’ll have updates and in-depth information on timely topics as well as information on new actions and strategies.

Are you new or new-ish to Indivisible WA8? Please join us at 9:30am on the 10th, before the community meeting begins, for a “Newer Member Welcome & Into to Indivisible” gathering where we’ll get to know one another and answer your questions.
