Fighting the “Big Beautiful” Murder Budget

As budget reconciliation continues in the other Washington, we need to do all we can to fight against the slashing of benefits, gutting of social programs and raising taxes on the working class.
Here are 3 things you can do!
- Learn more about the Reconciliation process so you can help others who aren’t as connected understand it, too.
- Share your Medicaid Story with Rep. Kim Schrier. She’s collecting stories from community members to showcase the impact that these cuts would have on hard-working Washingtonians.
- Even though we know our Senators and Representative are fighting against these awful cuts. Keep calling them to thank them for speaking out and standing up.
Here’s a call script if you need it.

Hello, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [CITY].
I’m calling to thank (Elected official) for opposing any budget reconciliation bill that cuts Medicaid, reduces Medicaid expansion, or imposes Medicaid work requirements. Medicaid is a lifeline for millions of Americans and rural health systems. Reducing its federal budget would cut off millions of people from needed health care and destroy lives and local economies.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
You can also modify this script to remind our representatives we see them when they protect the budget for SNAP (food security safety net).
Click here for phone numbers… and then add them to the contacts on your phone!
Call any friends and family who are represented by Republicans in Congress, call them and tell them to call their Representative and Senators, too! The bill has stalled recently, and Republicans need to feel even more pressure. Background information. Stop the Cuts sign up form from National.
Gather Items for The Circle

The Circle, located right here in Issaquah, welcomes individuals and families new to the country, as well as those who are already established in the community. They offer education, support in navigating resources and services, as well as classes and opportunities for communities to come together to learn, celebrate and understand each other’s diversity.
In these difficult times, it is more important than every to support the non-profit organizations that serve those in our community who need it most. Following up from the May community meeting, we are supporting the donation drive coming up next Saturday, May 24th for The Circle! See the listed household items needed to set up new homes below.
To have a member of our Community Service team deliver your items, email us at indivisiblewa8@gmail.com. They will do a porch pick-up that morning and bring your items to the donation site. Or drop them yourself, at Premier Storage between 9am-11am.
