Shutdown Showdown

The Republicans control the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives – They can re-open the government any time they want to vote to end the filibuster. But, they want their unpopular policies that threaten our health, security, economy, and democracy to have a “bipartisan” seal of approval – despite the fact that no Democrats helped write the budget.

Almost every Democrat held the line to address the healthcare cost crisis and defend Americans from Trump authoritarianism. Now, we need them to hold their ground. Dems must continue opposing any budget that lets Trump’s healthcare cuts and price increases take effect, or that hands him a blank check to keep terrorizing our communities.

We need to encourage our Senators and Representative to get loud, stay loud. and fight! National cautions that Democrats can’t end fascism in one fell swoop, but this does represent an opportunity to rein in some of the lawlessness, save healthcare for millions of Americans, and force Republicans to be held accountable for putting billionaires over families.

October Community Meeting Saturday

Join us Saturday, October 11th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM for our regularly scheduled monthly meeting, at the Issaquah Valley Senior Center, just one week out from NO KINGS 2, so we can get ready together!

Our regular meeting will be short as we’ll be making signs for the NO KINGS 2 rally on the 18th. Bring a friend, and if possible, your own sign-making supplies.

Registration is not required, but encouraged: https://www.mobilize.us/indivisiblewashingtons8thdistrict-1/event/840214/

No Kings 2 October 18th

Saturday, October 18th, 11:00AM – 1:00PM
On Northwest Sammamish Road between Pickering Barn and the I-90 overpass at Exit 15.

With over 2000 events registered nationwide and more to come, we are on track to making this the largest peaceful protest in US history! Our peaceful movement is only getting bigger and stronger. “NO KINGS” is more than just a slogan—it’s the foundation our nation was built upon. Born in the streets, carried by millions in chants and on posters, it echoes from city blocks to rural town squares, uniting people across this country to fight dictatorship together.

Bring your friends, your family, and your neighbors to this peaceful event with your signs, costumes, and other creative props. Register to get updates and details as we announce them.

Help spread the word

The best way to get the word out is for you to personally let your people know! Send a text, call them, email them! Tell them why you believe it’s so important to show up! Ask them to join you! Make a plan to attend together. And, don’t forget to tell them to share with their circles of friends, too!

You can also grab some printable flyers to share electronically or to post in public spaces you frequent. They are available in full, half, and quarter sheets.

Help fund expenses

Printing flyers and handouts, materials for signs, a PA system so people can hear leaders and music at rallies – all that costs money. If you can chip-in, please donate here https://secure.actblue.com/donate/indivisiblewa8

Volunteers needed

We will need all sorts of volunteers to help make this event a success. Contact us at indivisiblewa8@gmail.com for more information and/or to let us know what you can do!
