Join our First Whistle Kit Party

Inspired by the successful use of whistles in Los Angeles and Chicago in disrupting and slowing down ICE raids, WA Whistles has taken up the cause of organizing and distributing whistle kits throughout the state and Indivisible WA8 is joining in!  Join us for our first Whistle Kit Party on Tuesday, December 30th, at the Issaquah Library from 12:30-2:30 pm.

We will put together whistle kits that include a “Know-Your-Rights” card in English and Spanish, the explanation booklet (or zine), and a whistle with a lanyard. These will then be passed on to immigrant support groups and local businesses for distribution where they are most needed.

For this party, we are still in need of 300 snack baggies and 400 printed copies of the zine, plus snacks! Please use the button below to let us know if you can print some zines or other supplies.

Why Whistles?

Whistles are a simple, cheap, and effective instant alert system. Noise = visibility, turning silence into community action. Whistles warn others when ICE is in the area so vulnerable people can get to safety, and everyone else can help. The more people that have whistles, the better!

Why 3D printed Whistles?

All whistles are good whistles, but 3D whistles are cheap and can have Rapid Response phone numbers printed directly on them. If you or someone you know has a printer and would like to help with this, you can find more information here. The need for 3D printed whistles is endless, so spread this far and wide.

Hope to see you Tuesday!
