We Have No Time to Waste
Only 43 days remain until the November 3 midterm election, an election that will decide whether our country recommits itself to being a land of the free or descends further into authoritarianism, oligarchy and corruption.
The wannabe-king has announced his strategy. At his pathetic convention last week in Dallas, he urged his supporters to “cheat like hell,” and he’s been at it himself, with constant efforts to gerrymander, intimidate and disrupt. If he can’t steal the election, he wants to sow enough chaos that he can attack the results as unreliable and invalid.
There is one sure way to defeat that plan, and that’s with a ballot-box tsunami, in which the results are so emphatic and overwhelming that they cannot be denied. That won’t happen on its own, though – it will only happen if we make it happen.

Make An Election Plan
It’s the cumulative effect of the small difference that each of us makes in the weeks ahead that will create the national ballot-box tsunami we need on November 3. Here are a few simple steps that you can take to create your own personal election plan:
Identify candidates that can use your help. Fortunately, Washington Indivisible Network’s Elections Team is doing the research necessary to help you make that decision when it comes to Congressional elections across the country. Using the projections of reliable independent, non-partisan political analysts and available campaign finance data, it’s compiled and is updating weekly its “On The Bubble” lists of U.S. Senate and House candidates in toss-up races who need the most help. Volunteer! You don’t have to say yes to everything. Just do what you feel comfortable doing – phonebanking, texting, postcarding or (in local races) canvassing – in the time you can make for it. And don’t worry if you don’t have experience – every campaign will be able to give you any training you need.
Donate! Once again, pro-democracy candidates are at a financial disadvantage. Billionaires are providing huge dark-money support to their opponents. If you can, donate to candidates you support. As with your time, even a little bit helps.
Don’t forget local races and ballot measures. Five of the nine Washington Supreme Court positions will be filled in this election, and MAGA/conservative groups are doing their best to try to fill those positions with right-wing judges; we have three right-wing initiatives on the ballot; and based on the August primary results, some of our local legislative races promise to be close. Educate yourself on the state and local candidates and measures on your ballot, and then spread the word to people you know and give deserving candidates and initiative-opposition campaigns any help you can.
VOTE – and encourage others to do so!
- Ballots should be mailed out by October 16.
- If you haven’t received your ballot within a few days after that, check your registration and ballot status
- Fill out and return your ballot as soon as you can!
- To avoid any issues with late delivery, drop it into any ballot drop box (Locations here).
- Encourage your friends and family members to do the same.
- Check with King County before election day to make sure your ballot has been received and counted

No Kings Vote Early – Issaquah

Veterans Memorial Field in Issaquah
Up to now, No Kings has been a protest to send the message that we wouldn’t back down to a wannabe dictator. This time, No Kings is about boosting early voter turnout to historic levels so that the results are too big to rig.
We will join across the nation to rally, march and sign wave to kick off a drumbeat of events reminding everyone to vote early and spread the word.
