IndWA8 was founded in January 2017 in the Issaquah/Sammamish area as part of the national Indivisible Movement that rose up to resist the first extremist, anti-democratic Trump administration. We have been fighting for our democracy ever since.
Our members were instrumental in flipping the WA-08 House seat in Congress from red to blue in 2018. From there, our membership has continued to support candidates at the local, state, and national levels as well as use constituent power to hold our legislators accountable and support progressive federal and state legislation.
In 2025, in response to the election of the Trump regime, we expanded our work to include standing up for our immigrant neighbors, and taking to the streets for the nationwide Hands Off!, No Kings 1, and No Kings 2 protests, local rallies to support Medicaid and veterans, and much more.
In 2026, we plan to continue to stand up and speak out against autocratic leaders and their illegal actions here at home and abroad. And we will make sure our members are informed about how to take back Congress with leaders who will fight for democracy.
Whether you are new to being an activist or have a long history of standing up for what you believe in, you have joined us at a critical juncture and we welcome you!
